Sign Up At Your Nearest VA Clinic

Postby DPCSDan » Wed Dec 26, 2007 10:09 am

I must admit that I have not done this, yet. But my brother, an army veteran from the Vietnam war, signed up at his local VA clinic and has received a number of health care benefits.

He is not retired military, but any veteran can sign up and many, especially from the Vietnam era and other war time periods are elegible for free health care benefits.

In addition, "beastman", one of our forum members, says to check the website http://www.va.gov/healthcare to see if you qualify for benefits. Some benefits open or close depending on the area you live in.

We earned the benefits and with today's escalating health care costs we might as well jump in and use them.

The down side might be that you spend a whole day waiting for service in some areas... I do not know this to be a current fact, but it was a problem when I last looked into this about ten years ago.
